SpX ART started a number of years, when Fritz Dietl approached us to help with their Los Angeles Art shipments. (This was before they had their LA office.)

Through the work we did with Dietl International, we met Gagosian Gallery in Beverly Hills. And gradually they became a client of ours, as well. At first, we were doing local moves. Then we began to assist with Installs (and De-Installs), at their Gallery and at off-sites. Eventually, we started storing Gagosian’s larger Art Sculptures and exhibits. (Such as Tom Sachs: “Space Program”.)

Not too long ago, we provide Air Transportation for Gagosian Gallery for the very large exhibit of “Dreamer’s Folly” from Chris Burden’s Studio, deep within the windy and steep roads of Chris Burden’s Studio in Malibu Canyon to the very congested streets of Rome Italy.

And as you might suspect, this fortunately led to helping Mr. Burden with some of his very impressive Art items, also.

We’ve been very fortunate and are very grateful for the privilege of working with these amazing clients. (As well as the other wonderful clients, we didn’t have space to mention.) And if there is anything we can do to help you to become yet another wonderful client of ours, please drop us an email.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read a little bit about our past. And we very much look forward to working with you in our future.

Services

  • Services

One of our more utilized services is our New York-California Art Shuttle. It’s really no different than all the other NY-CA Art Shuttles that are out there. But since we are rather small, we like to think that we are able to give you a little more personalized service. As such, we often are asked to make various “detours” in our Shuttle Route. In November, we collected Art from Dallas, Chicago, and Phoenix. And already this month, we’ve delivered several pieces from Los Angeles to Miami. (Yes, that would be for the Basel-Miami show.)

But occasionally, our clients require even quicker transit times. Sometimes overnight. Sometimes even faster. Earlier this year, we had a small Warhol painting that we collected from a New York gallery on Tuesday morning, flew it immediately to SEA-TAC airport, and delivered that Tuesday afternoon to a client in Seattle. (Of course, gaining three hours by flying west helped a lot.)

And since we’re in LA, SF, and NYC, we move Artwork within and throughout those cities.

Also, some of our clients (such as private collectors), don’t have the facility (or really the desire) to pack their Art items for transit. We are certainly willing to help with their needs. Sometimes it’s just some basic soft packing and other times it may require very articulated crating. (A recent Calder mobile comes to mind.)

And yes, many times our private collectors require Installations or De-Installs also. (Actually, some of our Gallery clients request it also.) And of course, we’re glad to assist.

Well that pretty much covers the biggies of our services. But if you have something that may require something a little different or unique, please drop us an email and we’ll certainly do our best to help. And if nothing else, perhaps we can help guide you to someone who can.

Thanks very much and we look forward to assisting you soon.
